Hey hey I finally finished House of Leaves. Pretty good, with the right mix of horror and warmth. It didn't astound me with brilliance, though, more settled and lingered in my mind. I totally freaked out, though, when I was looking at the mirror in the bathroom while turning off the light, and the sudden change made me see something dark looming right behind me. Of course it was just eye light flash things. yeah. I tried it again, and it'd didn't happen. I guess my eyes adjusted to the on-off thing.

You know we've never gone inside the attic here? First of all, we don't know how to open the door.

I was inspired to read the book because of a Penny Arcade comic. I tried looking for it again, but archive and Google searches turned up nothing.

So, one or two months ago, I was watching The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.


Guess who played the pirate Blackbeard LaCutte in one episode?

Andrew Divoff, aka. MIKHAIL "PATCHY" BAKUININ from Lost

Patchy was a pirate!

sadly, he was a pirate sans eyepatch.

But still.


Also, M.C. Gainey (Tom, aka Mr. Friendly!) plays a recurring bandit in the first half of the series.


And Kelly Rutherford (the lovely character but horrible mother Lily Van der Woodsen Bass on Gossip Girl) is pretty and gets to be cool sometimes as the traveling singer Dixie Cousins.

I should have taken pictures of Patchy. argh
When I borrow the DVDs again, I'll try and remember to do that.

Lost co-creator Carlton Cuse was co-creator of The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. The show aired back in 1992. I wonder if other cast members will appear on Lost...
