The UC Berkeley (actually, it was UC-wide) protest I helped shoot for CalTV. Some other groups tried to push their message there, but the main protest was a faculty and student strike about proposed budget cuts.

oh my gosh I have asked the camera department head to tell me when there's a session dealing with lighting, because wow my lighting was bad up there. I thought I put it to let in the least amount of light possible! And it was still like that! Yeah, it was noon, but still...

Any video people reading this, especially [livejournal.com profile] claennis: How do you get your colors and lighting look so good?

That's cool you did that! You'll get the hang of the lightening problem soon enough. I've never been part of a protest or filmed one.

aww thanks.

And while you get used to various levels of protest at Berkeley, my first protest was actually an immigration rights one that occurred in my last year of high school. I only participated by wearing the same color shirt, but it was relatively big - there were even helicopters filming our school.

Did you put up your camera's neutral density? I think they're like sunglasses for your camera. Also, there's certain settings that can further close the iris on the side of the camera...though I don't remember their settings.

ALWAYS WHITE BALANCE.

The settings on the side: it's like levels 1, 2, 3; most cameras are on level 1; if it's still too bright, yank it up to 2, and then open up your iris...there's also a ton of other things I do to fiddle around with lighting and what-not but that would mean me showing you on the camera itself. :D

I put up the neutral density to let in only 1/64 light (that's as low as it goes), and there were problems with the iris on the cam I got and I was in too much of a rush to fix it. But I SHOULD HAVE WHITE BALANCED OF COURSE. ARGHHHHH

BUT THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME

YOUR ICON MAKES IT LOOK LIKE TIM ROTH IS TELLING ME THIS

Tim Roth could be telling you this...kekeke...

No problem, white balancing is one of my favorite things to do on the camera...don't know why... :)
