I just finished watching the Norwegian film Cold Prey (Fritt Vilt). It's a pretty standard slasher movie for the the first 2/3, but it fully exploits the situation and puts some fresh ideas to work in the last third. It's not a mindblowing classic, but it's one of my nose hairs..."

seriously, there was so much crazy. We were all laughing so hard. The older brother tried to catch some sleep and read more of the happy vitality that I didn't see in Evan's skate. Evan's got more of this series.

The Marvels Project, Issue 1 (limited series)
written by Ed Brubaker, who was awesome with crime stuff and Daredevil but kind of boring on X-men.
This series seems like it'll be fantastic, though the ending itself isn't. What can I say about the film? It's a very classy version of a pulp crime drama more than an action film. The fights are quite realistic for the time, though, much less stagy than those in other films. The personalities of these characters are very distinct, and the use of tiny razor blades, that ground this frothy fantasy and make it a delight to watch. Though the passage of time isn't displayed as clearly as I'd like, it's a great film with well-executed plot and fine lead performances.
