I'm about to watch the second ep. I actually got sucked in right away but the depiction of the warrior dudes kind of put me off. I'm hoping it gets rounded off later on, I have read the books so I don't know.
Yeah, that's one of flaws of the TV show. Their depiction of the Dothraki is less focused than the books and is bordering on perpetuating stereotypes. The books aren't perfect but they're a little more culturally sensitive.
That's what I saw on racialicious. The writer of a review post commented that the tv show took it to another level.
I actually felt really sad at Lady. I wish Ned had just released her. Although I didn't see much of the wolf-kids interaction, I suspect based on Bram(?)'s wolf and the wold of the little sister that there are some strong bonds there. I felt so sad.
I wish Ned had released her too, but then he'd be in trouble for disobeying the king's (more like Cersei Lannister's) order. The murder of a direwolf is also very important symbolism for the North; I wish they had showed the Stark direwolf sigil more prominently in this is the previous episodes.
I think this episode was really slow for the first half, and I'm wondering how people who haven't read the books would feel about Sansa's direwolf dying, because she hasn't had much screentime with her direwolf to show the connection.
