2012-02-25 08:42 (UTC)but whenever I actually do it, it is an accident!
I've given up pearl tea for Lent for several years now. I've managed to survive. Giving up things that you like to remind you that it's Lenten time is the point.

2012-02-28 10:35 (UTC)I tried to figure out a food I could give up for Lent but didn't come up with anything so yeah, not doing it. I mean, heck, we Lutherans don't even do Lent so why bother. I did give up on some immaterial stuff like downloading things illegally.

2012-03-01 04:06 (UTC)yeah. I'm Catholic and right now they're saying that you're not required to give up anything (and they're also emphasizing setting positive goals for helping the community), but I guess for most people, giving something up is one of the best ways of reminding you that it's Lenten time.
